Baptism

2-4-12

We've been working on Terriann's baptism which occurred today. Here are some of the photos!

This is a before baptism picture

We had a wonderful group of 24 people at the sea as Terrianne chose to be baptized there rather than in the river. She is the neice of our first missionary (Reginald Hypolite) from the island to ever go on a mission. We also have begun teaching his sister Alix who is Terry and Terriann's mom.

There is a botanical garden nearby where there are some very interesting trees. This is a photo of a tree that has fruit that looks like loaves of bread. Look carefully and you'll see some on the left side of the picture. There also is a tree called "cannonball tree". I'll see if we can get a photo of it.

We can see the cruise ships come in from our balcony. They tower over the city and have more passengers than the whole population of the capital city of Roseau.

We work and work and work with the people here and they say yes yes yes and nothing comes of it. This can be very frustrating! We are having alot of success in talking with lots of great people, just not much change in their lives. Here is a photo of 5 hands showing the different degrees of color.

As we are working with all black people and are learning things we would never have thought of before. In working with David, Pauli and Randell we learned that David has a serious concern about the curse of the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon. We have found some very helpful information on the internet that makes it very clear that the curse is not skin color, but spiritual. We have ordered DVD's that will give us further knowledge. They say that we are all different shades of brown and if you think of it none of us are WHITE or BLACK, just different shades of brown. What you will see on this website is absolutely fascinating. www.blacksinthescriptures.com
